EPL Preview - Arsenal welcomes Tottenham to Emirates as top match of Week 12

The North London derby will kickstart the English Premier League matches fixed for week 12.

Arsenal will host their rival Tottenham at their home ground, The Emirates stadium. The Gunners have enough players to feature, Olivier Giroud is the only player to return with an injury from international break. Shokdran Mustafi and David Ospina have been pictured training with the team and they could be ready for selection after a few weeks lay-off. Santi Carzola and Rob Holding remain sidelined.

Tottenham Hotspur has key players doubtful for the derby and a big headache for their manager, Mauricio Pochettino. Star forward, Harry Kane who has scored many goals in the derby is expected to start the fixture, other first team players such as Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) and Jan Vertonghen (ankle), Victor Wanyama are battling to be fit in time for the match. Also, Spurs are also short of hands between the sticks. Hugo Lloris and Michael Vorm are sidelined, although the former is in fitness test to feature in the encounter.

The Gunners will be hoping to end a run of six games without a win against Tottenham in EPL, their last victory was in 2014, when Czech Republic's Tomas Rosicky lone goal sealed the victory. Spurs started the campaign more better than Arsenal, with 2 loss so far compared to Arsenal's 4. The match is schedule for 1:30pm on Saturday.

Rosicky scored the winner

Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger talked about Pochettino in his pre-match conference. He said:

‘It is difficult to win trophies. It is difficult to finish any job.

‘You do it by keeping your nerves and getting the players to focus on what is important.

‘And at some stage, by fighting a bit against your inhibitions – the fear that you won’t get over the line.

‘You need to focus on what is important and not focus on the trophy too much.

‘I don’t want to judge people. I think he’s [Pochettino] done an exceptional job and he’s a good manager.

‘After that, in our job it’s the distances and the quality that makes the difference.

‘He has all the ingredients to go a long way, but overall it’s very difficult to predict what will happen in his career.

‘It is up to us to get over the line and win trophies and it is not easy. But it is a quality, patience.’
